Recently I shot this video with HV20 vimeo.com/360477. It turned up on vimeo as HD, but it shows as 1440x1080. I want it to be shown as 1280x720 or 1920x1080. But I don't know how I can do this? I thought this was done automatically, cause when I use my own players like VLC, it is shown in the right HD proportions. Right now the video is high quality, but because of the 4:3 look, it still looks old.

Can you help me getting the right size/resolution?

thanx in advance,

I assume you are on a PC? If so download mediacoder (free - just google it) Then transcode from 1920x1080 to 1280x720. Using the xVID or H264 codecs work fine and look great when uploaded to Vimeo (plus file sizes are smaller).

Cheers

It took me a while to get stuff working, but I used VLC to capture the video. Than I used Super from ERightSoft to convert the file. But the video is 1440x1080, and when I try to convert this to 1920 of 1280, I get a problem with the videoquality and with the sync of the audio. So it's not that I have a file that's 1920 that I have to convert to 1280, but I have a file that's apparently 1440x1080 and I want this to be converted correctly to 1280x720, but I don't know how??

thanx for your answer though

like to hear from you again,

I tried mediacoder, and the result is better than with Super, but I still have the sync problem, the image goes slightly faster than the sound. Not as much as I had with Super, but still...
I used AVI H.264 resized 1440x1080 to 1280x720, 25 fps, Lame MP3, 128 Kbps

And when I upload to vimeo, the conversion at vimeo makes the out of sync even worse, see: vimeo.com/360746
