I have seen a few issues on here asking for you to fix the issues with ssl warning - e.g vimeo.com/forums/help/topic:97943. Nothing ever gets done. I cannot use an embedded video with an ev cert as you just invalidate it. When is this going to be fixed. All the threads just get locked without a resolution.
Come on guys

Hey there- SSL is usually used for securing content that you would want protected, such as passwords, bank transactions, etc. We do not implement it with our player because there isn't any user data that is in jeopardy through our player, and using "http" helps our player run as smoothly and quickly as possible.

I apologize for the inconvenience this causes you, but it is the way our player functions.

Rebecca,
More and more sites are moving to run fully under ssl, not just banking etc. My users are signed in and thus under ssl. How can I deliver video to them?

Your response very much contradicts earlier posts from staff at Vimeo when they confirmed this was an issue and was about to be fixed.

Why the sudden change of heart?

Please also note that even your own site suffers from the this problem - playing a video when signed in invalidates the ssl and gives warning messages in my console.

This issue is causing us pain and as paying customers your reply was less than helpful, failed to resolve my issue and seemed to just brush me off telling me that we are doing it wrong!!

I apologize if you were under the impression that this was something to be fixed -- again, this is simply the way our embed code works. It is http-based, and if you want to use it on an https site, you will run into issues.

I was in no way telling you that you were doing anything wrong; just trying to explain the way the code works and why it isn't compatible with your site/where you're trying to embed your videos.

I would recommend sharing your work via portfolio pages instead of trying to embed them on your website: vimeo.com/help/faq/pro#portfolio.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us at vimeo.com/help/contact. Thanks.

Pretty confused here guys to be honest.

Ian replied before - but it seems to have been deleted

Ian Durkin has replied to your comment on Vimeo:
“ Hi there, sorry about that. This is actually something that we're hoping to address with our next player push. However, at the moment, we do not have an immediate fix"

What is going on here!

ok, I have no option but to migrate our video services over to Wistia.

Really bummed about this. Looking for alternative solutions as well.
