    i'd really love the ability to make the amount of views i receive, private. i thought for sure this feature would already be available, but i guess not :(
    is anyone else on board?

    would you like to elaborate on why you would want to hide the stats on your public videos?

    no 1 specific reason. i just figured people should have the option. whether a video receives 10 or 10,000 views shouldnt have any importance to anyone but the user.

    i think the popularity and the engagement stats of a video they're watching will always be of some interest to the viewer. i agree with you. it is not the most important thing in the world and we were careful not to show everything there just for the sake of it. but we will keep your suggestion in mind.

    just for the clarification though... is it the fact that you believe this adds unnecessary noise to the experience or is it that you'd rather not want to share these stats on your videos with the viewers?

    hi, thanks for your consideration and response.
    my main reason for wanting this feature is basically a privacy issue. also, part of me thinks a viewer should watch a video based on content and not solely for the reason that it has 'X' amount of views. although its clearly not for everyone, having the option to change it would be nice.

    I don't follow the privacy issue, can you explain it more? (This isn't a criticism you folks, I honestly haven't been able to think through a scenario where they present a serious privacy issue. That's my weakness, not yours.)

    As a viewer I often really like to see the stats on videos. It adds to my enjoyment in ways I can't fully explain. If I really like something that has had few views I sometimes try to promote it to my friends, for example.

    So I would feel a loss if the stats weren't there.
