Hello All
here is the final video!
vimeo.com/clip:145503
and the story to accompany!
This is the second Simultaneous capture edited video!
Initial Concept + Editing: LCF
Implementation and Organisation: DJP
This was born from a project I devised to celebrate Vimeo's 250MB upload limit:
Forum: vimeo.com/forums/topic:934
Final Clip: vimeo.com/clip:132737
All clips: vimeo.com/tag:worldinaminute
From here I suggested we all capture video, not at one time around the world, but instantaneously around the world.
Forum: vimeo.com/forums/topic:978
DJP also had this revelation from my idea and proposed we do this, to celebrate vimeo's second birthday

Thank you to everyone who participated from around the world, from Sydney to New York, London to Germany, Brazil to Arizonia - we covered many many places!
Apologies to a few people whose clips aren't in the montage - generally certain formats of WMV (ie ASF) wouldn't convert in Final Cut Pro, meaning I couldn't add it to the final montage - they were great clips though which annoys me even more hehe!
This clip took 10 - 14 hours to render (clips had to be resized, retimed etc for 4:3 PAL Final Cut Pro sequence) two large storyboards and two hours of trimming and editing to complete. I hope you enjoy the final result!
I have to say, watching this clip through makes me feel really good about the world and humanity - with all the wars and mayhem happening right now, to me, this is kind of a beacon of hope - that it doesn't matter where we are in the world, some of us can all get along and make great things such this and Vimeo :D

The next time maybe those of us with windows based PCs can convert the files to quicktime format and repost them.
Iain Brew
Yeah - I felt bad having to leave clips out just to format limitations
Tabitha.Cox

Paul McClintock

Charlie

This would have been a hell of a lot easier with FCP2
Iain Brew
I'm going to get the upgrade soon as a late birthday present to myself I think - FCP2 looks awesome but I won't digress in this thread
Sometime in a month or so I might try to plan one, along the idea of the different seasons i.e. winter here, summer in America and so on - i'll keep you all posted

It would be cool to do one to celebrate V5. There could be a script, off of which everybody reads/voiceovers one line.

Thumbs up! Very cool.
Iain Brew
Well, for the next few weeks i have major works/exams - but after the 16th of June I would be ready to manage a new capture - BK - the version 5 launch sounds cool
perhaps everyone does something that involves '5' or the concept of '5' - or as you say a script
i'll keep my mind on it
