since upgrading to iOS 7.1 my embedded website vimeo video no longer plays on Safari - I get the player but when it plays all I get is a black screen. on Chrome I just get a black box?

this seems to be an iPad only bug.

If this was within the last 24 hours, it might be due to the Telia issue.

It would be affecting more than the iPad if it was.

Ah, true. I should read threads more closely

here is the link:
abc.scasascia.com/view/mr_hare
it's the vimeo movie and it's on page 2 of the 21 pages.
it now appears to play fine when you first open it but when you move to the next page and then move back to the vimeo movie it goes black - both on Safari and Chrome.

This is happening because you're loading the player before it is actually displayed, and also not unloading it when it is being hidden. Take a look at our Developer documentation for more information:

I tried: "Here’s what the embed code for the Universal Player looks like:"

still got the same problems?

The issue has to do with the carousel/slideshow layout you're using, not necessarily the player that is being used. If the player is loaded into the DOM before it's actually being displayed onscreen, you might have trouble with playback. Generally speaking, you shouldn't load and hide the player before it's being displayed.
