Community Forums / Vimeo Projects / Great resources for finding music for your films.
- Be nice: Even if you disagree with someone, you need to keep your tone civil and reasonable.
- Keep on topic: Please keep discussions relevant to each topic and avoid multiple topic posts.
- Don't Spam: Show restraint with your posting frequency. We're all doing cool stuff on Vimeo, but if we post about it too much, it can be distracting.
- Respect the Staff: The entire Community Staff were users once, just like you. We try very hard to answer everyone's questions, so please be cool.
- Still have questions? Watch this tutorial.
We recommend starting a Group for projects so users can collaborate and see all the videos in one place.

From today I'm writing my own soundtracks.
I am annoyed :( while I am negotiating with the publishers, to get authorizations, the record companies tell the youtube to delete my videos...
The funny one that is managed by the same persons....
Then I do not work any more with record companies. But because I am saying that?
I am going to create my tracks and to place them at the disposal of the users of the VIMEO to use freely:D we do not need any more them!
I worked 25 years for record companies {:-I) now let's do knots themselves!
Also I am going to repeat all the tracks of my videos. be able to believe!
It is that that I was wanting to say. Soon I turn here for postair the link of the musicians.
Obliged to all!
universal-soundbank.com/
really complete and well done no?
Thanks Karen
I've got too many bookmarks already..
I also find it's good to collaborate with indie musicians, by adding them to your MySpace and getting to know them and maybe offering a free service to them in exchange for usage of one of their songs in a video. Remember indie musicians are dying for exposure just as much as indie filmmakers.
:-)
Thank you very much.....it's like a treasure
:] Love it!

If you find it usefull I can send you the files and/or make something new. Making music for film is fun, use composers!!
Though people should be aware that whilst music released under the Creative Commons may be 'free' to listen to, you cannot necessarily use it in your own video productions, mashups, remixes etc. These are all options that the owner chooses when licencing his music under the CC licence agreement.
I have released several albums under the CC agreement making it free for anybody to download, listen to and distribute with my details intact, but I do not allow it to be remixed, sampled or messed about with. It also cannot be used in video productions or commercially without first paying a licenceing fee. Jamendo takes care of all of this for me.
cheers,
S.
