    Our provider has put in a fix for this issue as of about 6:30pm EDT and it seems much better -- please post here and try the netdebug network test if you continue to have problems. Thanks.

    I am a recent Vimeo Plus user and my HD embedded videos are very very slow to load...
    I am in France, do you think it can be a problem.
    Is there a solution to speed, because I must wait 2 or 3 minutes loading the beginning of an HD video in order to see it without freeze.

    Hi Daniel,

    I have seen in the last months that when i wanted to playback our videos that at the very beginning it takes 10secs and sometimes much longer untill the video (buffer) loads and starts to playback, but other users videos loaded much quicker even though they all are HD videos and using the same browser/PC for playback. Hmmn :-?

    Just wondering if it could have anything to do with the video length or hosted location?

    Not to beat a dead horse, but my videos too seem VERY slow to load. The ones on the Vimeo home page load faster for sure, don't know if it's something to do on your end. Other people's vids also seem VERY slow.

    Viewing on Firefox with 20mb/s internet service.

    Loaded this today vimeo.com/6717529
    and it takes about 20 seconds to start and then catches up with the buffer within seconds. Very frustrating.

    As mentioned, videos are loading very slow. EVEN WORSE, they are gagging... not playing smoothly... stopping and starting. Unwatchable. Is this being worked on too?
    I'm using firefox as usual.

    It took 15 minutes to buffer 90 seconds of video, and I lost patience after that.

    I followed the standard HD/H.264/ACC/YadaYadaYada protocol. Tried on IE8, Firefox, Chrome, all are giving me the same issues.

    Is this an encoding issue, or is it just a slow morning?

    (My SD videos are buffering fine).

    I, too, as well as my clients, are reporting VERY SLOW load times for my videos today. Not good. In general, I have not had the best experience with the playback of Vimeo video since coming on board about a year or so ago. Vimeo, I think you guys really need to take a GOOD HARD look at the playback engine. There are some real problems in that playback engine to be sure. I know you are probably working on it but if I cannot get my videos to play better and soon, might be time to find another video service, which I don't want to do. But, today seems to be exceptionally slow. Thanks for listening and good luck!

    I upgraded to Vimeo Plus last night and the video I uploaded last night is playing poorly: vimeo.com/6714229 but the videos in my account from before Vimeo Plus play perfectly.

    This has nothing to do with my internet connection.

    An interesting note: I just turned HD OFF to see if it loaded faster, and it loaded in seconds AND, it seemed to me that the quality looked better than the normal SD quality. I could be wrong on that though.

    My videos have been loading slowly all day, even at my school where we have a very fast connection. At least 2-3 minutes to load my video which is 1:30 long. But I have submitted my ticket, and hopefully gets fixed soon!
