I've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, quicktime now exports what feels like a million times faster. My work flow now is to Export -> Quicktime Movie and then open the file in Quicktime and "Save for web.." and use the "Computer" option. The result is a very good quality h.264 file with a m4v extension. I've uploaded this to vimeo, the quality comes out good but it doesn't flag as an HD video and the download item says "Unknown version" any ideas.. See this vid for an example..

That video is 960x540 your display dimensions need to be at least 1280 x 720 to get HD treatment. Details here- vimeo.com/help/compression

goto your utilities folder in snow leopard. in it is quicktime 7 and that version of quicktime will allow you to control complex settings.

    BTW... I'm from Hawaii too.
