I know you guys haven't been living under a rock, so I was wondering what is the risk of having lip dubs be included in "Vimeo Obsessions" because they are technically copyright infringement. I'm not saying I agree with that stance as you can see from some of my earlier videos. I'm just afraid Vimeo may be exposing itself to MPAA and RIAA (hereafter referred to as MAFIAA) troubles. They've been hassling Youtube and Vimeo could be next.
On the one hand, Youtube has blatant copyright infringements like whole episodes and stuff like that. But Grokster lost their Supreme Court case because they were encouraging infringing behaviour which "Vimeo Obsessions" is by encouraging lip dubbing.
I really, really enjoy my Vimeo experience and I don't want to see you guys (and gals) brought down over this.
So has Vimeo legal staff (or whoever you use as your lawyer) looked into this?
