.
I'm Jenna, and I'm quite new to Vimeo, and I love it here! I've never done anything like this before. I had an idea for a project we could call Share Yourself. I have a list of questions I would like you all to answer in a video, and please only answer as much as you feel safe revealing online. I am doing this as a way to get to know you!
I tested this idea with Scruff_E_Guy, and he suggested using not only the standard questions, but also having you all send around the questions to others in the Vimeo community and adding to the list questions directed specifically to the people to whom you send the standard ones.
Scruff_E_Guy graciously answered the standard questions and one specific one for me. His video is vimeo.com/319214
and he encouraged me to announce this project here!
Here are my questions. Add as many as you wish!
tell us as much of your real name and location as you feel safe sharing online
tell us about your job
What is your age/marital status?
What do you like to do in your spare time?
How and when did you first come to Vimeo?
What do you most enjoy about being a Vimeo member?
Is there anything you do not enjoy about it?
What are your favorite things you've seen here?
What kind of video do you enjoy making the most?
How did you come up with your nickname and what does it mean?
Who if anyone in the Vimeo Community would you like to meet?
Do you have any plans to meet anyone?
Is there anything you haven't done that you'd like to do?
Thank you so much! I would love to get to know people here!

i had an additional question from Scruff_E_Guy.
and that was 'where did you come up with the idea to do a song to amandalynnferri?'
WhamBamThankYouMam!
you should start a CHANNEL for these clips:)
I do mean everything....her video, her pics except for this one cat here, her channel subscriptions... her nickname...seriously.....wtf?
just cause she has left doesn't mean the project can't continue.
it was a good project. it is a good project.
just cause she did whatever she did which we don't really know what it is, doesn't mean it was all in vain.
i honestly don't see why your apologizing.
it's not like we have all been scammed into giving her money or something.
Billie, i hope you get your money back! ;o)
;P
and now I feel like continuing mine !

"tell us as much of your real name and location as you feel safe sharing online"
My real name is Len Goforth. I live in Springfield, OR.
"tell us about your job"
I'm disabled. Before that I was an electronics engineer. Now my job is putting upwith chronic pain, anxiety disorder, and making videos. Erm.. what's the difference? 8-)
"What is your age/marital status?"
I'm 57. Marital status -- available!
"What do you like to do in your spare time?"
Outside of video making, I like computer games, movies, riding my bicyle when weather permits, music, and learning. There's music in everything. Music is what binds us together, no matter language barrier, world location, religious or political belief.
Music is all around you -- in machinery, in nature, in language and dialects. It is rhythm, combination of pitch and harmony, and an element of time and timing.
Learning is what keeps life exciting. There's history, politics, science, anthropology, archaeology, the arts, and all the subgroupos of these things. Once you 'know enough' and stop learning, you've committed suicide. You're no longer living. You're just existing, and you're doing it in your own little world - very little. I've never stopped learning, and always seek new things to learn about. Video making is one of those things.
"How and when did you first come to Vimeo?"
I've been here about a week now. I found out about Vimeo thanks to a post on Digital Director Forums. A fellow videographer pointed people to his videos, and one look at his and others' stuff told me that quality streams could be had here.
"What do you most enjoy about being a Vimeo member?"
Fellowship. We're all in this together, and it's about video making, not video content. The community here seems to be centered around the process, not the result, unlike YouTube which is just the opposite. Here, people strive for excellence. On YouTube, people strive for quantity, not quality.
"Is there anything you do not enjoy about it?"
I'd like to see smilies in the forums and comments. Smilies are a way to communicate. Lacking this makes communication a little more difficult. A tiny image of snicker, a grin, a smile are all smiles, but each one says it a little differently. Smilies just add to your vocabulary.
One thing that I don't like about video making (not Vimeo) is the technical side of it. I'm just not as sharp as I use to be, and rendering for best result is daunting. I just can't find enough technical information, and learning it the hard way (by trial and error), is most frustrating.
"What are your favorite things you've seen here?"
Oh man! That's a tough question. I can't answer that. THere's much to like -- the content, the friendliness, the support, the ease of use, the... erm.. uh... LOTS OF STUFF. The sum is greater than the whole of the parts.
"What kind of video do you enjoy making the most?"
Music videos. I've always loved music, can find it in everything, and if I can get a visual representation of that, then I'll succeed. There's lots of ways to visualize it, just like there's lots of different genres of music.
"How did you come up with your nickname and what does it mean?"
Lengo is a contraction of my full name - Len Goforth. I've been using this nick for years on various message boards. Recently I've learned that this is an Italian (I think) slang for 'fool'. I fit that description too! 8-)
"Who if anyone in the Vimeo Community would you like to meet?"
I'd like to meet everyone, but in particular Eugenia Loli-Queru. She has been very helpful, and I'd like to hug her for being so sweet!
"Do you have any plans to meet anyone?"
No. Getting out is difficult for me, so planning anthing is nearly impossible due to chronic pain and lack of financial resources. Planning? Heck. I don't even plan to go grocery shopping. I just go.
"Is there anything you haven't done that you'd like to do?"
Yeah! I've not been to Istanbul, Turkey. I've not been to Dubai, Machu Pichu, Rome, Paris, and other places, and I haven't kissed -insert beautiful woman's name here --. 8-)
Warpping it all up, video making is a new learning experience for me. I get to incorporate music, imagery, sound, and computer graphics. The community on Vimeo is supportive and friendly and centered around the process. Good quality vids and excellent features are found on Vimeo too. This is a great place to hang.
if you ever get the chance to find a camera, please put this in video form and I'll add it to our channel. Some submissions have been done on webcams, which can be very affordable.
I'm starting a new project, very much in the spirit of this one. Here's the link:

Also, here's a video I made to explain more about it. Scruff_E_Guy, could you post it on the "sharing" channel? Thanks!
