my video didn't upload. well, it did the usual upload but the bottom of my page said "error on page" the entire time and i never got to go any further than step one. when it said it was finished and i tried to view it, it wasn't there......
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
Thanks for the report, what browser (including version) are you using?
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
This should work better if you were using IE
  •

I waited for the video to upload. When it was done, it said that everything had worked fine. That was it. No option to go to the next step. ???

I have the exact same problem! Help!
  • Dona Nishi 11 months ago
I had the same problem. I couldn't choose who to show it to. Using Mozilla Firefox 5.0.

  • BobDull 11 months ago
Mine uploads halfway or a little more than halfway, then stops. Using Mozilla Firefox 5.0
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
    Firefox 5?
  •
  • Amenon 11 months ago
Same problem for me as BobDull - made 3 attempts. Same browser. Third attempt it stopped at about 25%. ZoneAlarm indicator showed there was no traffic upstream. Also the "Cancel Upload" hyperlink had no apparent effect. Also refresh operation on Upload page stayed hanging. I wondered if the Upload environment was on the blink....
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
This *should* be fixed. Give it another go when you get a chance.
  • Amenon 11 months ago
Hi Ted! Ran smooth as silk this time - thanks - nice work :-)
That's Firefox 5.0 here. Nice to see the taxi-meter ticking away as the upload runs and to get the notification email like clockwork.
  •
  • Dreagon 11 months ago
It scrolled up to 11% rapidly, and then hasn't moved again. On an earlier try it did the same thing to 8% then stopped. IE Explorer.

Oh, and please bring back the old counter showing the upload rate.

    :update:
20 minutes later it is still sitting at the same place.
  •
  • Rob Lyons 11 months ago
    Lataest Firefox/Mac. Won't go past 7-9%.
  •
  • garnite 11 months ago
Raced right up to 2%, then stopped and stayed there. IE explorer, latest version. I liked the old X kb out of 6x kb counter, too.

Yes, we put the alternate in place, it should be there now - give it another shot. Sorry for the hassle.

"Sorry, there was an error processing this file. 193891-c3d7962f

    Any solution?

Upload now works but just one note: when it reached 100% it was only filling 50% of the progress bar. Just cosmetic.
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
Great to hear it works. Next time before you upload, can you press the shift button and click "Reload" before you get started.

That may help the progress bar thing.

Is there no longer a weekly upload limit?

I can't find it anywhere and yesterday I was out of megs but I just uploaded a 150 meg video and it took it.

Is Vimeo finally cool enough to not care about stupid file sizes?

I uploaded two different files last night (using firefox 2.0.0.6, PC) and they didn't show up for hours... Like you know normally when a video is still uploading, it is still viewable in the list of "Your videos?" These two clips weren't there until the morning.

That's pretty much it. Not earth shattering, but still strange. I didn't know if it was intended that way or not.

  • VJnet 11 months ago
I tried uploaded a QuickTime video clip a few times. I'm using the Mac version of Firefox version 2.0.0.7.

The first time I tried uploading nothing happened on the progress bar.

The next times I tried the Progress Bar said that it was 100% complete. I was able added the title, tags, description and credits in the Optional sections on the upload page. But nothing happened and there was no Finish button or Converting Video message like before on the Upload page and the video did not appear in my Videos as well.
  • VJnet 11 months ago
I tried uploading today and it says that it's 100% done, but nothing happens :-( Can you look into this. Thanks :-)

Works using Firefox 2.0.0.7...... Where did you peeps (above) get Firefox Version 5???? Is it like some super-secret beta-release available only on the moon?
  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
I figured out that Firefox 5 means, essentially, Firefox 2. Firefox reports as being "Mozilla/5.0" I'm pretty sure that is what they're reporting.

It seems to upload for a while and then just freezes at percent X (it's random) and just sits there until I close the browser tab or the entire session. Firefox 2.0.0.7 on Windows XP.
  •
  • dina 11 months ago
I too, have the "loading stuff just a sec" problem. Watching videos seems to be a-ok. Tried it with Safari 2.0.4 and Firefox 2.0.0.7 I will now try everything else.

  • Ted Roden staff 11 months ago
This probably means that you need to upload your flash player: adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

I had the same problem. Good thing I'm an InterWeb expert and checked the forum. ;) Thanks.

  • I just get "Something went wrong" right after choosing the file to upload. Firefox 2.0.0.6 on Ubuntu Linux, Flash 9. Is there another way to upload before that gets fixed?
  •
  • garnite 11 months ago
Today it made it as far as 50%, a new record. Usually it only gets to 1 or 2 percent before it freezes. I've been unable to load since you changed the system. IE explorer 7.

yep, having issues with firefox and uploading on mac. tried ie, but of course old old version and looks wacky. in firefox it uploaded all the way and when I went to complete page went blank. i've tried three more times and is taking long time and stopped on 89%...*sigh*

I've been getting an error after my video loads 100% and I hit "finish." I identified that it happens if I create a new album.
It works fine when adding to an existing album. Just not when creating a new one.

I'm using FireFox on a Mac.

    Overall I LOVE Vimeo!

i also got (like michel) a message after it reached 100% that said "Cannot load machine." i am trying to upload an avi file - is this not supported? i'm using IE - what could the problem be?

    thanks,

i have tried to upload the same video 3 times. The 2nd time it said it was 100% finished, had the red finished button on the bottom, and once I clicked it it went to the page where I could view the video, but it stated something like "this video is finishing up try back in a few minutes" but nothing ever came back and it still showed I had zero videos uploaded. I am now at 52% of the 3rd try, but it seems stuck. It is a 300 meg file, is that too big? What seems to be the problem I am having?

  • Could we at least get the old upload form back somewhere, so those of us having problem can still upload? It's something like 8 days now since some of us cannot upload anything...
  •
  • Dianadee 11 months ago
I can only get so far as to get to the uploader page and then it stops saying "Loading upload stuff. Just a sec". I'm using the newest version of firefox. Been doing that since yesterday.
