- Be nice: Even if you disagree with someone, you need to keep your tone civil and reasonable.
- Keep on topic: Please keep discussions relevant to each topic and avoid multiple topic posts.
- Don't Spam: Show restraint with your posting frequency. We're all doing cool stuff on Vimeo, but if we post about it too much, it can be distracting.
- Respect the Staff: The entire Community Staff were users once, just like you. We try very hard to answer everyone's questions, so please be cool.

A dislike button might be fun.
I don't know what the impact of that would be, but...
The problem with 'dislike' is it creates a bad atmosphere, and you end up with YouTube-esque bitch-fests and infantile behaviour.
What benefit to a video maker is there of a 'dislike' button? How does a simple 'dislike' that help them become a better video maker? All it does is produce bad feeling - and that is not what Vimeo is about.
If you don't like a video, have the courtesy to take the time to leave valuable, polite feedback. Vimeo is about a nice user experience and a kind community. It's not about stats, rankings, or arguing. Which is the sole purpose of a dislike button.
Please, don't bring the topic up again. Or if you do, revive your old thread on the topic.
Ben you should have ideas.
I don't see much difference between a dig or a like or apreciate button but i can imagine what would be few likes buttons.
I like the colors.
I like the production.
I like the message.
I like the quality.
BUT the lone hart shaped button is elegant.
that would be a step down big time!
but different types of like buttons would be good.
but is that then a rating system?
or does it 'de-like'?
I love the atmosphere of vimeo, very friendly, very clean.
I would like to see it stay this way for as long as possible.
but a loop button... now that's something i could DIG
I bet thats what Jakob is doing.
buttons are what tie video, internet and user together. let us never underestimate the power of buttons. the more the better. "fill that player up with em" i say!

It totally goes against everything that Vimeo is.
I dislike your hair.
You are too wonderful to act silly
and too silly become wonderful.
lets just hear you rock.
There I think I've said a negative positive.
or whatever.
But There is room for true criticism on Vimeo

or a "shake junk at" button
