It would be great to have a embedded video autoplay only the first time a user visits, and on subsequent visits the user would have to click the play button

We already provide autoplay option on our embed code but as for what's being described above, I think that will be very difficult to implement. And honestly I don't think a lot of our users will want such specific behavior.

i don't believe that. seems like a logical thing to ask for. having an "intro" video on a homepage that plays on first visit is a request i am getting from my end users.

I feel this is very necessary. Autoplaying a video on the first visit is good, but after that it serves no purpose to the same visitor. It becomes an annoying factor to most returning visitors. It also gives a false sense of tracking. That's my 2 cents :)

For now you could use the following code to set the cookie. Just replace where I have (put Vimeo id here), the size and any other options inside the embed code:
