Can I not embed the video so it can be seen by people who are not vimeo members? What's the point of embedding if there is a huge lock icon on the video?

i'm not understanding you. if you wanted to embed and share your videos with anyone who comes to your page, why did you make the clip private?

I don't understand why you have to get into such a complicated process to solve this problem. Many people want to have videos seen in blogs, but not seen or searchable on Vimeo. Basically if someone knows the URL they can watch the video / embed it in a blog to show up. Why can't you just have an option for the uploaded video to be not searchable in your database so that it doesn't appear publically in any list. I don't understand why YouTube or Revver or anyone has not done this as it would solve a huge huge issue. Masses of people don't want videos seen by the whole world, but they do want them seen if someone visits their blog.

I'd actually like to do this as well - I'd like to have the video be private so that no one can see it in the community, but I'd like to be able to embed it into my own webpage on a different site, where I control who sees my page and allow whoever gets to that page to see the video. I've already limited who gets to my page, so I don't need to limit who sees the videos on the page.
I used to be able to do this on videoegg, but they are no longer offering personal video sharing, and YouTube a long time ago.
