I have the Panasonic HDC-SD5 camera. I have had a terrible time trying to upload videos. I have a PC (and am not planning to switch to Mac anytime soon) and need some guidance. What steps do you follow to get your video to be able to be viewed with sound on vimeo?

I have tried a couple of software trials, but nothing seems to work. I am willing to buy software but I need to know it will actually work before I upload. We mainly use the camera to record our baby and want to be able to share the videos with family, so I don't necessarily care about a super fancy software package to make high quality stuff. Suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hello Macy,

This should not be tooo dificult. all my videos vimeo.com/bo come from a SD1.

Your camera makes AVCHD files, this is really just a way of compressing the video, BUT it is not supported by Vimeo "yet".

I use Sony Vegas 8 - this software will let you create a simple project and then render it to 720P. Take a look at Eugenias settings for Vegas 8 render. vimeo.com/forums/topic:3671

Hope this helps, feel free to shoot me a message if you continue having problems.

    Bo

It would probably help if you outline the steps you are doing now, as well as what software you are using to create the files you are uploading. Be as specific as you can about what kind of files you are creating, and that might help us, help you.
