    Hey all,
I´m new here and thinking about a new camcorder for doing shortfilms and such films.

Now I thinking about the canon HF10 or Hf100, or the Sony HDR SR12E.

The different between the both types is, that both canons use a flash card to save the datas and the sony camcorder uses a hard dirsk driver. So I´m not sure which one is the best for me, cause the hard disk is so sensitive, but it can save much more datas than a camcorder with flash card. But it´s not as sensitive as the hard disk.

I´m willing to spent about 1000 € for it.

If someone have some advice for me would be wounderfull. Which camcorder is better for my intentions, or if someone have another proposal of a camcorder, let me hear it.

    Best Regards,
    Josef

The major feature on the Sony is it's view finder which the Canon doesn't have, I find the LCD on my HF10 a pain in the neck to use, other than that I like flash memory as it's easier to replace. but be aware that the editing requirements for AVCHD are very demanding and requires a fast computer with plenty of ram.

Thank you Bryan Sellars for your informations.

I´ve decided to orderd the Sony camcorder.
Yeah, the view finder was also a piont for my decision.
AVCHD shouldn´t be the big problem for my machine which has a 3,6 cuadcore, 8gram and NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2

    Regards,
    Josef
