I am a student at Oakland Community College and will be transferring to Grand Valley State University in Fall 2009 to study film and pursue a career as a director of photography.

    when viewed on a TV that isnt widescreen the video is letterboxed. on widescreen TVs it fits the whole screen, and when i compressed the video for web, I let quicktime pro letterbox to fit the 1280x720 16:9 aspect ratio, im really not too sure why there is that black frame around the video, but its kind of annoying to me... not enough to bother messing with though.

    I didn't. I just decided it was because it was SD. When I upgraded to HD the problem went away so I stopped worrying about it.

    I had trouble with that when i exported my video last year but it was in SD and I didn't know much about compression of motion graphics and which codecs to use for best final quality. It all turned out bad, titles were really soft and poor looking.

    Offhand I don't remember. I want to say between 800 and 1400 depending on the focal length and aperture.
