Garret Hipsman grew up in a farm in Illinois. He got his first taste of film in the summer of 2009 when he PA’d on the Kent State University student feature film “Breaking News”. He attended Newark Community High School and graduated in May of 2011 with a class of only 49.

The following fall, he enrolled in the film and broadcast department of Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy.

Since then Garret has worked on many student films, including a round of “film one” short films in November 2011 and two second year “film two” short films in the spring of 2012.

Garret has a number of side projects in the works and hopes to have a successful career in cinematography.
