Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Seattle, Washington, Gene Lebrock has spent almost his entire life working professionally in the entertainment industry.
A lover of music since childhood, Gene is a self-taught musician. His early musical influences came from Gospel, of which he remains a devout fan. Gene taught himself to play the drums and by age 16 had landed his first job as a professional drummer. He continued working as a musician for the next several years, with such notable bands and artists as Patti Labelle, Ricky Nelson, The Thin Red Line and many others. Gene’s raw talent gained the attention of the well-known Cornish University, which granted him a full scholarship. While obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Music, Gene continued to perform and tour both domestically and internationally.
After graduation, Gene took a break from performing and modeled for FASHION, one of the top modeling agencies in Europe. His clients included several well-known labels, but his favorite was Versace. Ultimately, however, his love of music called him back from Italy, and he returned to the United States, where he was promptly drawn into the acting world.
Gene’s acting career included more than eight feature films, as well as multiple television shows. Acting also served as the stepping-stone that motivated Gene to launch Lebrock Film Ventures Inc. - a development company under which he produced and directed multiple feature films.
L&M Digital Picture and Sound followed shortly thereafter - a subsidiary arm of Lebrock Film Ventures Inc. that was one of the first facilities to offer “one-stop” post-production shopping. L&M Digital provided post-production services for many entertainment industry titans including MGM, Lifetime, Discovery, Miramax, Universal, FOX, CBS, ABC, A&E, Dreamworks, HBO, Tribeca Henninger, Oliver Stone, and more. L&M Digital’s “one-stop shopping” model provided the cross-platform approach that is the cornerstone of the Digital Media Program, which Gene designed and implemented at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM.)
Gene currently resides in Los Angeles, California. In addition to his role as Creative Director of FIDM Productions and Director of the Digital Media Program, he also serves as a consultant for multiple entertainment companies.
