He graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo in 1981 majoring in Business Marketing. Peter competed in the grueling Decathlon earning a two time NCAA All American status while holding the University’s record for 20 years.
Peter turned in all his sports gear to pursue the “Life Decathlon”. He not only got his degree from college but also met his life partner and bride Elaine Hammermaster Godinez. They married July 18, 1981. They have been married 30 years as of this writing. He began his business career at Xerox Corporation in August 3, 1981 working in various sales, marketing and management positions in Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern, and Los Angeles counties. He expanded his sales and marketing skills by taking on the challenge of other industries. Peter became the Director of Sales at Gospel Light and Regional Vice President of Realogy. Through the ups and downs of these experiences he strengthened his desire to change the way people “sell”.
Peter has been featured in print media for the Pacific Coast Business Times, Ventura Breeze, Ventura Star, VC Life & Style, Skirt, and was voted Ventura County’s Best Salesperson by the VC Reporter. In radio, Peter has been on such radio shows as Bunny Vreeland’s “Here’s the Thing”, Coach Ron Tunick’s “Business of Life” and along with his long time friend, Keith Gunther produced over 50 Blog Talk Radio shows entitled “Guys Talk Time”. Video production has been Peter passion showing this in his monthly CAPS pubic access TV shows, Ready, Set, Go SalesHero and Social Media Sales Hero. He produced and promoted the Award Winning CAPPIES featuring some of the top celebrities in the community. As a Ambassador to Xerox, Peter has produce the 1st Xerox Solutions TV Show which gets national attention.
Peter and Elaine Godinez have been major time blessed with a son, Jared Godinez and a daughter, Cheyenne Godinez. Jared’s bride is Tess Botsford Godinez. They all love their pets Lola, Sky, Kate (all Boston Terriers) and Lacy (Papillion).
