I remember those nights, planning technologies that didn’t exist yet, outsider science, futurist dreaming, half-magical. I was building another science, my science, wild science, robots and lasers and disembodied brains. A science that buzzed and glowed; it wanted to do things. It could get up and walk, fly, fight, sprout garish glowing creations in the remotest parts of the world, domes and towers and architectural fever dreams. And it was angry. It was mad science.’
– Austin Grossman, Soon I Will Be Invincible
Goto10 is the visual pseudonym of mad scientist Joris de Jong. I live and work in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
My first love and occupation was motion design. I just love making pretty things move. After a while I got fed up with long render times and corporate clients and more and more I started programming and manipulating visuals in realtime.
These days you can often catch me exploring strange new worlds on the graphics card of a Mac, and if you're into generative Quartz Composer stuff, check out my website. Sometimes I also give the world a glimpse of the strange places I visit when I perform under the name Goto10.
Besides spending lots of time behind a computer screen, I teach the VJ Visual Production Course at SAE Amsterdam.
Also I love zombies and apple pie. Feel free to get in touch about either.
