After nearly a decade of relentless drought, eastern Australia was subjected to record rainfall in December 2010 and January 2011. In the state of Queensland, an area the size of France and Germany combined was flooded.
Rivers and creeks of every size that had been dry for many years began running again.
This is one of those occasional watercourses.
The film was captured in high definition using a Sony HDR-FX1E camera. Movement in various shots was facilitated by the use of a Glidetrack. Images were composed using the Panavision aspect ratio and the film was post-processed using Final Cut Pro and Magic Bullet Looks.
