This is one of the most extraordinary places on earth. Lakagígar (Craters of Laki) is the site of the worlds biggest natural disasters in recorded history. The eruption in 1783 produced more lava than every other known eruption combined.
We spent a day there filming for the 'Living with Lava' documentary, we only used a handful of shots in the final cut so thought it would be good to make a compile for others to enjoy ... it is a pretty special place.
Keep an eye out for the faces in the lava rock, the more you look the more appear!
