People make fun of Albany, NY and call it "Smallbany" because it is so much smaller than New York City, but really, Albany's a great city in its own right. Here's a song called "Smallbany."
Here are the lyrics:
Welcome to Smallbany where everything is quite tiny
Our buildings don't scrape the sky but that's OK by me
I hope you enjoy your stay but be careful where you step
You don't want to accidentally crush a resident
You'll find we're friendly people just kneel down and take a peek
Our tiny welcome party approaches as we speak
Giant stranger - what brings you to Smallbany today?
Are you tired of that giant city - we forget the name
Don't be fooled by Smallbany. We may be small but as you see, we are happy, we are free to be who we want to be
You see our roads and bridges are just the size for our
diminutive population and teensie-weensie cars
Please be careful not step on the boat house in the park
Don't trip over the Egg downtown when you're walking in the dark
Once you have settled in there's something strange you'll realize
You'll feel like you are shrinking down to our size
Don't be alarmed - you're not shrinking - it's Smallbany that grows
On you until the scale of your life is perfect I suppose
Don't be fooled by Smallbany.
We may be small but as you see, we are happy, we are free to be who we want to be
