Sony NEX EA50 User Group

Sun came out and it was warm, so I finally got to play with the EA50 outside for awhile. Used the kit zoom lens and a Sony SEL35mm prime lens. Manual settings - f/4, 60th/sec, 0 gain for the 35mm. The zoom was at f/6.5, 60th/sec, 0 gain, as it was zoomed out and that's as fast as it gets when zoomed out. Just used the stock shotgun microphone on the camera for audio. Close up of the target had chroma set up a bit and the archer when shot with the zoom had chroma and contrast tweaked. Used Edius 6.5 to edit so AVCHD files were converted to Grass Valley HQX format for editing. HQX is an intermediate codec that uses VBR and intra frame coding at 4:2:2, 10-bit. Moving to 4:2:2 and 10-bit reduces quality loss during editing. I used settings of Q=2 and M=30 which ends up at about 5:1 compression.
