Chop Shop is a monthly TV show and Podcast that documents the hip hop non-profit All Walks of Life Inc. Based in Savannah, Georgia, A.W.O.L. provides arts and technology education to youth in underserved communities.
This month on Chop Shop, rehearsals for Situations: Shakespeare's Sonnets, as well as P.R.O.J.E.C.T.S. 5, AWOL's sound design program. The kids take some heat for being unprepared for rehearsal in week four, and we look in on a dance sequence being taught by Elsie Mfuka, choreographer. Finally, we check in with AWOL founder Tony Jordan, as he deep fries a few dozen tukeys for a fundraiser in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving day.
Chop Shop is produced, shot, and edited by Mitchell Powers, AWOL's media producer, and video production instructor. Titles song is Hip Hop 2.0 by Projects 4, AWOL's 2010 sound design graduates.
