The Brooklyn Navy Yard's hospital annex produced over 1/3 of the medicines used by Union Troops in the Civil War. Today the property is owned by Steiner Studios and remains unused. Pending government subsidies, the property and ten or so buildings, including the main annex, will be restored and repurposed.
