So I bought Elements 3D a few days ago and after a few hours of using the plug-in I decided to try to do a professional looking motion design video.
I used only the presets 3D models and pro-shaders, along with particular and optical flares.
My opinion about the plug-in is that it is not the game changer everyone is talking about. It sure is awesome, BUT you'll always need a real 3D soft to create the models, break it into pieces, etc ... The packs Andrew Kramer proposes with elements are cool, but a few month from now, everyone will be able to recognize it at a glance, just as the action essentials or sound design packs (that I used here btw).
Plus, there is no comparison between something like mograph and the animation engine of elements, or the capabilities of C4D/3Dmax renders and openGL.
Still, I do recommend to buy it for the texts, it is awesome to have really good looking text only with after effects, and for the time it will save you when you are in no need of physics or hyper realistic renders, so quite often.
