    INDIE FILM PRODUCERS WELCOME

John D Griffin Created by John D Griffin

As a newbie, always studying and observing on the sidelines of indie and major film productions, I figured it was time to get my feet wet with my first indie short. The screenplay is written for a feature. Needless to say, it was painful trying to figure out what to cut for the short. I am curious to hear about other producers experiences on the cutting room floor.

Thanks to great actors and a support crew, everything turned out fine on my set. The positive response has been huge. Over 7,000 likes in several of days on YouTube alone. Our screen debut (fall 2012) met with success to a full house

Thanks to great actors and a support crew, everything turned out fine on my set. The positive response has been huge. Over 7,000 likes in several of days on YouTube alone. Our screen debut (fall 2012) met with success to a full house of fans. Our canine lead actor was amazing. His trainer and lead actor had all the right moves. The story line was shortened for the short release and cut out major, crucial, dramatic scenes (white water river swimming, roadblock, cliff dive, etc.). At the end of the day and at the end of the final shoot... any of the huge scenes would have been welcome.

I have no regrets being fully aware of the budget limitations at the time... but it's hard not to wish for more. With the right investment and budget, anything is possible in regards to this story.

What about your story, film, movie, documentary, frustrations ??
