A short film exploring my Dad's memories of his time spent in 1950's Egypt, in the Suez Canal Zone, during his Army National Service, from 1952 - 1954, aged 18 from the call up.

The title of this film, "Breaking Home Ties", is taken from a Norman Rockwell painting of the same title.

The Music is by Moby, and is from the feature film "Heat" sound track, entitled "God Moving over the face of the waters"

This film won "Best Response to the Subject of War"
at the Student Film Awards at the London Imperial War Museum, run by the Film archives at the museum, in 2002.
