We made an unscheduled halt at Mandal for a crossing with the Khandwa-Ajmer Exp. A freight train was already stationed on the other loop. The loco in charge was suddenly lit up due to the headlights of the approaching train. I was somewhat befuddled that we had occupied the platform line whereas the train with the commercial halt (at this station) was made to stop on the through line. Note the inspection saloon at the end of this train.
