Repelling Spheres is a large interactive sculpture installation at Clark University. It is 9' square, and consists of 36 spheres suspended from electric motors. A camera in the middle detects presence under the sculpture, and raises the spheres above the detected object.

This sculpture is a response and rejection of the ideas put forth by Michael Fried in his essay Art and Objecthood.
