Dennis Liberty's relationship with the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

"I’ve stolen a page from Hiroshige and Hokusai. Just as they lived intimately with the magnificence of Mt. Fuji, I live with the mystery of the Sandias every day and have begun a series entitled '101 Views of the Sandias.'

These mountains are never the same mountains. Each time I look, I find something new, something wonderful and inexplicable I’ve not seen before.

I finally got the guts to paint the Sandias after looking at them for over 40 years. They are my neighbor, friend and guru."
