A beautiful sunrise and perfect, deep snow for my first run of the season? I grew up learning that day one of every season happened on Thanksgiving Day on one run of totally man-made snow.
When Utah got pounded with a record-breaking storm on the second week of November 2012, I got hungry to get on skis again. I convinced Greg Gavin to hike up Flagstaff Mountain pre-work on November 13th and was rewarded with great skiing and a huge smile.
