Radical Acceptance: The Breast Portrait Project

A visual artist, Clarity Haynes is currently an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University in Long Island. I first met Clarity in the mid nineties. I envisioned shooting a short video highlighting her artistry. The most favorable circumstance presented itself late winter 2011 when Clarity held the first solo show of work from this project at the Tabla Rasa Gallery 224 48th Street, Brooklyn, NY. The realistic portrayal of women's bodies is what sets her apart and maybe above the historically/current portrayal of women of privilege and social power. Touching and inspiring, a visionary that appreciates and captures the beauty of authenticity. I value the opportunity of capturing on film, a woman who's work has embraced an acceptance that can only be defined as radical.
