A tableau of violence, revenge and redemption recurring threads within the history and social fabric of Mexico.

This short film takes it's inspiration from a Mexican play, La Representacíon, where a charismatic, yet psychologically flawed, man of means holds power over his servant in a Stockholm Syndrome-based relationship. Together they enact a complicity of entrapment and violence to other women.

Unlike the play, the short film takes the essential characters and empowers the women to make their escape from their respective physical and mental abuse by exacting a violent revenge on the man to break the magnetic hold he has over them.

The scenes move through a short journey leading to the Man's fate at the hands of his Servant, long submissive to his repeated bouts of domestic violence and the Woman that shares his life and, by definition, the mental abuse of being part of his captive triangle.

In Sin Redencíon the women take their revenge by metering out a violent mutilation on the Man that keeps watch and hold over them. They break his magnetic spell by blinding him, thus severing the hold he has over them. Wracked with despair at his loss of sight and power, the Man seeks forgiveness and redemption through religion and his prayers are answered, he is given another chance to start afresh, his sight restored…but can the blackest of human nature truly be redeemed?
