An aerial presentation of the Battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55) moored in Wilmington, NC.

At the time of her commissioning on 9 April 1941, she was considered the world’s greatest sea weapon. The ship was the first newly-constructed American battleship to enter service during World War II, and took part in every major naval offensive in the Pacific Theater of Operations to become the most highly decorated American battleship of World War II, accumulating 15 battle stars.

Music by Geoff Zanelli, Hans Zimmer, & Blake Neely - "The Pacific"
