mancattan.co.uk - A film about Love, Life, Tea & Woody Allen
"Two Cities. One Film. No idea.”
A fully independent, self-made & funded feature film made in Manchester & Manhattan

ABOUT THE FILM
'Mancattan' is a 100% independent feature film which was made in Manchester and Manhattan in 2007-2009 by two intrepid Mancunians, enitrely in their own time. Phil Drinkwater and Colin Warhurst decided to make the full-length film as a stepping-stone into the film industry and to prove that a good story, talent and firm commitment, can overcome any obstacles that get in the way of achieving the goal of making a movie yourselves.

The film is a romantic comedy about the ups, downs and neuroses of two twenty-somethings completely mystified with what their future purposes in life are meant to be. They jet off to New York to make good on promises they have made to themselves, but in chasing their dream they also realise that they could simply be running away from their problems back home.

Mancattan is a fully independent feature film made entirely by a small team from the North West of England, using their own time, talent, funds and enthusiasm. The film was made between 2007 - 2009, and shot on MiniDV format.

The film is the end result of what dogged determination, passion, hard work and the utter refusal to bow down to external pressure and challenges that presented themselves along the way.

As a small team inspired to make films, and inspired by the Cities of Manchester and Manhattan, we hope you, the viewer, appreciates the can-do spirit and guerilla nature of the film and hope that perhaps it will inspire other film-makers to do the best with what they have, and to tell their stories.

Thank you.
