What is the “A Day without Water” video contest?

Water is connected to everything in our lives and in 2012 countless groups across Colorado are celebrating this essential resource. We all realize that communicating about water is fun and can be expressed in many ways. This contest gives you a platform to show the world what “A Day without Water” looks like to you… and perhaps offer positive or alternative solutions to water scarcity issues.

Everyone is invited to participate in the contest for a chance to win awesome prizes, courtesy of the Arkansas River and Rio Grande basins! A group of amateurs created a sample video that shows what “A Day without Water” means for agricultural preservation and food security in Colorado.

Deadlines
February 1 – September 30, 2012: Online submissions accepted
October 1 – November 15, 2012: Internal judging period. The finalists will be judged based on the goals of Colorado Water 2012, contest submission guidelines and the discretion of the judges.
December 2012: Winners announced and award ceremony at a venue and date TBD

Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be original and amateur creations that depict what your day without water looks like.
Follow the instructions to post a video on Vimeo. When uploading your file, name your submission and tag it as either “adult” or “youth” depending on your age.
Keep it clean – no potty mouths, nudity, or illicit activity. Video submissions must comply with Vimeo policies and will be approved before public viewing.
Submission must not exceed two minutes of total run time.
Water can be a sensitive issue. Please be respectful of other viewpoints.
Submissions may utilize any media type so long as it can be uploaded to Vimeo
By submitting a video, you allow Colorado Water 2012 to use the submission in related activities and events.
