Excerpt from the National Geographic Explorer film Fire Ants: Texas Border Massacre about the invasive red fire ants (Solenopsis invicta). In this sequence the fire ants use their rafting behavior to survive a flood that would have otherwise killed the colony.
In 2005 I worked on this documentary as the camera assistant to award winning wildlife cinematographer Alastair MacEwen.
