This new architecture & urban design mashup was made possible with newly-released Creative Commons-licensed footage from the British Council on Film. Several clips from their collection show how World War 2 and its aftermath greatly affected town planning: during the conflict, defense and evacuation were key considerations; while after the war, rebuilding of bombed urban areas provided opportunity to accommodate changing transit needs brought about by increased motorized transportation.
The Akai Miniak was used here on top of a track off the Roland TR707 rhythm composer.
Clips from the Council's collection include Development of an English Town (1942) and Architects of England (1941) for most of the material, with the glorious Technicolor footage at the end from The Green Girdle (1941)
