This very short animation was created as a sermon illustration for a pastor friend of mine. The basic idea is that when you are not aligned with the artist's perspective, things don't make a whole lot of sense. What can seem like a mess; what seems confusing may be part of a picture we're not fully seeing.
I found the image via google, and then using After Effects to project the photo on 3D geometry. There are several good tutorials out there for how to make that happen. The effect is very cool, though I may have stretched it a little beyond it's bounds as the very first part feels a little unnaturally distorted.
I ultimately put this together in a couple of hours, so for the time I had in it, I think it works pretty well.
