A project of the elective "Interactive Installations: Das Netz als Datenquelle" at Hochschule Darmstadt.
Dozent: Martin Schuster
Are platforms like twitter full of trivial messages and unimportant opinions? Or is there something more? Do we not use the same words to express ourselves and aren't there issues we are all talking about - in one sense or another?
This installation shows, that if you put twitter messages in context and search for the right things, people are even reciting poems with their words.
What the pictures show:
The word, that is searched for is used as bait to fish for messages in the sea of information. As soon as someone sends a twitter message with this word in it, the message is reeled out and put to its place in the poem on the right side of the book. The poem appears as a vertical line, connecting the messages. Unrelated words are linked to create a deeper meaning.
