This short excerpt from the classic National Geographic Special TIGERS OF THE SNOW, captured a Prime Time Emmy and was nominated for four more. It was the first film together for Director/Producer Mark Stouffer and Director of Photography Bill Mills.
Written by Kevin McCarey the film was shot over a period
of a year with 120 days of production in the Russian Far East, the show was one of the last to utilize Super 16mm film. Post Production Supervisor Barry Nye and Corey Staub handled the edit.
The film's Executive Producer was Nick Noxon and Tim Kelly.
Camera assistant David Huie and Sound recordist Paul Trautman rounded out the principle four person crew.
Filming utilized an Aaton XTRProd Super 16 system and a high speed Arri SR II with Canon 11-138, Zeiss superspeeds, Canon 300mm 2.8, and a Canon 150-600mm.
