In 1958 the United States Air Force inadvertently dropped an atomic bomb over the tiny South Carolina town of Mars Bluff. While the nuclear core was not armed, the conventional explosives detonated when the bomb landed on the property of Walter Gregg. Though no one was killed, the Gregg's home was completely destroyed.

"Incident at Mars Bluff" won the 2010 EMMY for Best Historical Documentary. The film was written, produced and directed by Matt Burrows for South Carolina Educational Television.
