The Australian Body Art Carnivale is held each year in the historic, rural township of Eumundi, located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland in south east Queensland. This year's Carnivale was held on the 3rd and 4th May.

The event was initiated in 2007 and is run as a free community event. It's organised by the Eumundi Chamber of Commerce on a not-for-profit basis:

The theme for 2014 was "Dreams and Nightmares" and this provided the participating artists with a wide range of interpretative options for their creations. The "Special Effects" category, and "Face Painting Body Art", "Wearable Art", "Show & Shine" and "Car Bonnet Art" were conducted on day two of the Carnivale.

The creativity of the artists makes the Carnivale a photographer's paradise. Throughout the day registered photographers can enter the areas where the models are being painted, and at the end of the day, they are provided with a "photographer-only" area equipped with backdrops and props.

The film was shot using a Sony NEX-FS100 camera and edited using FCPX. FilmConvert was used for colour grading.

The music in the film is "Drumming Part IV" by Steve Reich:
