Having spent the previous few days filming in Venice, we were exhausted and desperate to stay somewhere secluded - some where we could relax and rejuvenate ahead of our trip to Rome.
We were put in touch with Sibilla who's family farm is nestled high in the Tuscan hills in between Florence and Sienna. We were a bit taken back by the beauty of the landscape but equally so, the incredible history of the farm estate, the people who lived there and the transformation that took place - just half a century ago there was no running water, electricity or heating and very little farming machinery. Today, it is fully established having received many international accolades for its production of wine, cheese and olive oil.
Seeming as we had all of our equipment with us we just could not help ourselves - so this is the story of Buccia Di Rospo, which translates as 'The Toad Skin'.
Thanks to Sibilla, Susan Toni & Tillo for helping.
