Beginning around the end of March, the Washington National Cherry Trees come into bloom. This period of time is known as the "Cherry Blossom Festival." It is a celebration of both the blooming and of Spring finally coming to the Nation's Capital.
I captured the trees in the afternoon/evening simply because I woke up late on the day I wanted to go down, I was mad at myself over this, but quickly discovered that the setting sun cast some beautiful colors onto the blossoms, not to mention, the Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial.
All in all, the Cherry Blossoms are a wonderful sight and certainly something you need to see in person!
