It's a reflection about the concepts of "gesture" and "trace", moving from Jacques Derrida's theories. "Jackson Pollock's Funerals" is the deposition of the image as testimony: the image only can be the sign that something (unknowable) happened, a burnt mute sign that conceals more than it reveals.
