The first intention was to try the Flaat_10 Picture Style for my Canon EOS 5D M II and the fresh new version of Magic Lantern (v2.3). A walk in Parque das Nações, in Lisbon, a beautiful summer day and the will to show my daughter the emotions of a cable car ended up in a collection of clips that became this short movie.
And now, for the technical conversation... The Flaat_10 is the most amazing picture style I've ever seen (I used CINEMA, from Cineplus, until now). The best film look so far (I'm still playing with color temperature to get the best results).
For the Magic Lantern... Wow, stable, stable and stable. Not a single bug so far in almost two weeks of daily tests.
Some of these clips were shot at exactly 360 degrees shutter speed, other ones at 180 degress (yes, it is possible with Magic Lantern). 24p for all of them, 6800K color temperature (I guess I'll try a little bit warmer next time) and ISO 160.
No grading at all (Final Cut Pro X for the editing) nor overlays or any kind of correction. Just the widescreen mask.
